This is a mentor-based program with candidates supervised in a number of clinical and laboratory environments. Emphasis is on pre-operative investigation, surgical skill and post-operative management.

 

Course duration

The course duration is  1 to 3 weeks with 5 to 10 cases on each course. The duration can be tailor made according to the needs of individual surgeons.

 

Candidates

Will be selected to the appropriate course according to their previous surgical experience.

Program

The short term program is aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of practicing Ophthalmologists or aspiring doctors to choose the sub-specialty

The program focus on:

• Lacrimal Ptosis

• Nasolacrimal Disorder including Tubations

• Clinical Observation: Examination & Diagnosis

The Course

• Candidates will be required to observe and perform an extra-ocular surgical techniques relevant to oculoplastic surgery.

​

• A logbook of observed and performed surgeries will be kept and used for assessment.

​

• Training is provided by expert surgeons who have more than 500 Oculoplastics procedures to their credit.
