Short term courses available in Basic & Advanced Vitreo Retinal Surgical Training

Course duration

The course duration ranges from 4 weeks with 10 Retinal detachment cases & 5 Diabetic Retinopathy. The duration can be tailor made according to the needs of individual surgeons.

​

Candidates

• The applicant should be a practicing Ophthalmologist with special interest in Vitreo Retina.

• Applicant should be very good Anterior Segment surgeon and perfrom no less than 100 Phaco cases, with adequate knowledge on Vitreo Retina.

• Applicant should also have very good indirect Ophthalmoscopic skills and should have the experience of assisting a Vitreoretinal surgeon for at least 50-100 surgeries.

• Having background knowledge and experience on Vitreoretina is mandatory to attending this course

Applications must be accompanied by curriculum vitae, a copy of the applicant degree/diploma certificates, Logbook

Program

The short term program is aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of practicing Ophthalmologists or aspiring doctors to choose the sub-specialty

​

The program focus on:

• Retinal Detachment and Drop Nuceleus

• Diabetic Retinopathy

• Laser: Supervised Guidance & Training on using of various Retinal Lasers.

• Retinal Diagnostics: Fundus Photography, Fluorescein Angiography, Ultrasonography, OCT

• Clinical: Indirect Ophthalmoloscopy, Fundus, Biomcoscopy (900/78D)

Certificate:

By the end of the course, trainers will receive signed and stamped certificate indicated no. of surgeries performed.

*We lay emphasis on training the applicant in all above said surgeries, but this purely depends on the availability of cases.
